Gerardo (Jerry) Camarillo
A native of Pasadena, California, Jerry graduated from UCLA School of Design with an Environmental Design degree. Now a husband, a business owner, and Proud Dad has channeled his energy towards his favorite hobby, photography.
Jerry spent childhood summers in his parents hometowns of Guanajuato and Mexico City, listening to his grandmothers ghost stories in her pre-revolution home, riding horses on his uncles rancho and exploring the wonders of Mexico with his cousins in tow.
Although born in the United States, his Mexican heritage has always held a special place in his heart and he finds himself traveling back to the Mexico of his childhood again and again. This time he travels by plane with his wife instead of driving for three days with his parents and siblings in an old station wagon. Jerry documents the Mexico of his heart with his camera capturing the layers of magic, faith, poverty, riches, contradictions and complicated beauty that is Mexico.
Photographing Mexico ignited a passion in Jerry to see and photograph the rest of the world. He travels the globe, following his heart and taking a piece of each place he visits home with him through his photographs.
With this site he hopes to bring the images of what he loves to the rest of the world. He welcomes you to explore the world through this site and encourages you to share the experience with friends and family by passing this URL along: www.fotoaztec.com
